“Over the last 16 years, we are proud of IDEA’s successful legacy in having nearly 100 percent of seniors accepted to college,” Bethany Solis, executive director for IDEA Public Schools in the Permian Basin, said in a news release. “We are excited for this legacy to expand to Odessa as we support our students at IDEA Yukon on their journey to and through college.”
The tuition-free public-school focuses on personalized learning, core subjects, critical thinking and college preparedness. IDEA’s teachers partner with students and families every step of the way to ensure students are prepared for success in college and life.
The deadline to submit an application for the 2024-25 school year is 11:59 p.m. CST Feb. 16, 2024. Parents can submit an application here ideapublicschools.org/apply/?src=home.
A random lottery will be held Feb. 17, 2024, to determine which students will fill spots available at each IDEA school. If randomly selected, you will be notified and invited to attend a “Welcome to IDEA” event where we celebrate your acceptance to IDEA and orient you to IDEA’s culture, curriculum and expectations.
Students who are not randomly selected to attend IDEA will be placed on a wait list, and the order of the wait list will be randomly determined. The applications of students on the wait list will remain on file for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. If a spot becomes available, students will be selected from the wait list, and parents will be notified of their selection and informed of next steps.
