More than 10,000 Texans are waiting for a lifesaving transplant, a press release from the Southwest Transplant Alliance detailed.
April is National Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to honoring those impacted by donation, sharing education and inspiring Midland and Odessa residents to consider their decision to be a donor.
STA is a nonprofit organ procurement organization serving the Midland-Odessa area. A recent survey conducted within STA’s 89-county service area found that:
>> 90% of adults support organ donation, including 87% of unregistered donors.
>> When asked if the decision were up to them, 80% of respondents would be likely to say “yes” to donation on behalf of a family member.
>> Personal relationships and trust are key drivers or organ donation support and advocacy.
