RedRover Partners with Fix West Texas at Pet Wellness clinics this weekend

This weekend RedRover is on the ground helping Fix West Texas in two drive-through no-cost/low-cost pet wellness clinics in Odessa Saturday and Midland on Sunday.

The Sherwood Park Pets in Need Vaccination & Microchip Clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 11 am. today at Sherwood Park, 4819 N Everglade Ave.

Ulmer Park Pets in Need Vaccination & Microchip Clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday at 2700 W. Kentucky Ave. in Midland.

In under-resourced communities, limited access to adequate pet care can not only lead to preventable health issues, but heartbreak for families. Thanks to this partnership, hundreds of pets in Midland and Odessa communities will get the preventative care, food, and supplies they need to live healthy, happy lives, a news release said.

RedRover will deploy six RedRover Responders trained volunteers to assist Fix West Texas with the intake, registration, and distribution of pet supplies. In addition to providing volunteers, RedRover is committed to covering the cost of vaccinations for roughly 600 pets, which includes the Bordetella, rabies, and distemper/parvo vaccines.

The need for pet vaccines is undeniable both for the health and wellbeing of animals and for communities with limited resources. Pet vaccines:

  • Protect against life-threatening disease.
  • Prevent diseases that can be passed between animals, as well as those from animals to people.
  • Can help avoid costly treatments for preventable diseases.
  • Are often required by law.
