Recycling Center reopens

The Recycling Center, also known as the Time Machine, reopened Monday.

Renovations have been underway and will continue on the facility. It includes a new 6 foot fence, one entry and exit gate as well as some new paint projects.

The Recycling Center will also now have the same hours as the Household Hazardous Waste/Citizen Bulk Drop Off Facility, which are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon.

Citizens can only drop off within these hours to keep recyclables from being “contaminated.” Contamination is where people are accidentally mixing trash with recyclables. As a result, they can no longer be recycled.

Here’s what will be available:

  • 4 cardboard containers
  • 4 plastic containers
  • 2 containers for mixed paper and newspaper

Residents will be able to park in the same spots and walk the materials to the bins.
