This year’s Odessa Chamber of Commerce welcome event for new teachers was a huge hit.
ECISD Communications Director Mike Adkins said via Facebook about 300 new ECISD teachers were welcomed to the ECISD family during the event at the MCM Fundome. He said it offers not just bags and bags of “freebies” but also a time to make connections prior to the start of the new teachers’ first year here.
Superintendent Scott Muri said it is an amazing welcome and says “hey, we are glad you are here.” He added it helps make new teachers connect with Odessa and makes them want to stay.
Chamber CEO/President Renee Earls said the event allows Permian Basin employers to greet new teachers and added “these teachers are taking care of our future.”
