Pfluger votes to hold China accountable

WASHINGTON Congressman August Pfluger, R-Texas, on Tuesday voted to establish two Select Subcommittees on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (H. Res. 11), and the Weaponization of the Federal Government (H. Res. 12).

These subcommittees fulfill promises Republicans made in the Commitment to America to support a nation that is safe and a government that is accountable, a news release said.

“Americans are completely fed up with the weaponization of the federal government against our own citizens. We pledged to deliver accountability and oversight, and we are delivering on our commitment to protect the civil liberties of all Americans by establishing a Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government led by Representative Jim Jordan. The government should work for you, not against you,” Pfluger said in the release.

“We are also laser-focused on combatting the rise of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and holding the CCP accountable for their atrocious crimes while keeping Americans safe here at home. I am proud to help stand up these committees and deliver a government that is accountable and a nation that is safe.”
