Pfluger named “MVP” of GOP congressional baseball team

Record amount raised for charity

WASHINGTON On Thursday, Congressman August Pfluger played in the 2022 Congressional Baseball Game for Charity, an annual tradition between Republican and Democrat Members of Congress. Pfluger was named MVP of the Republican team.

A record $1.7 million was raised for charities that serve children and families.

Pfluger played third base and pitched on the Republican team, striking out four Democrats including Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff. He went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. While playing in the field, he had four putouts at first, including throwing Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Pfluger was instrumental in securing a 10-0 Republican win over the Democrats — the first Republican shut-out in 27 years.
