‘Permanent Record’ exhibit set

Celebrated artist Heidi Pitre returns to Odessa with her exhibit of library card art.

“A Permanent Record” repurposes vintage library cards into unique artworks that celebrate the written word that date back as far as 1927.

Pitre’s work will be exhibited from Sept. 6 – Nov. 19.

A special reception will be held for Pitre as well as the new library director Howard Marks at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16 on the first floor.

Refreshments will be served and the ECISD Harp ensemble will perform during the reception.

Pitre will also hold a library card art workshop at 2 p.m. Sept. 17. The reception and the workshop are free and open to the public.

This is all part of September’s National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
