OPD seizes 52 grams of cocaine, make arrest

A 39-year-old Odessa man was arrested on drug charges Oct. 14 after police said he was found passed out at an 8th Street gas station.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, Christerpher Lee Jones was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck around 5:15 a.m. and when they woke him up and got him out, they saw saw a baggie of cocaine in the truck.

Upon searching the truck further they found a second baggie and all told, the cocaine amounted to 52.9 grams, the report stated. They also found a ledger and $1,365 in cash.

Jones was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and an outstanding warrant for continuous violence against the family.

He was released Sunday after posting surety bonds totaling $65,000.
