OPD seizes 122 grams of M30 pills, make arrest

Odessa police seized 122 grams of fentanyl-laced oxycodone pills and 3.9 grams of cocaine Tuesday night after a covert surveillance operation turned into a pursuit.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, detectives conducting surveillance on a residence in the 1200 block of Wilson Street saw Diego Parra doing a drug deal and while they were drafting a search warrant, they saw Parra leave his home in a Lincoln passenger car.

When some of the officers tried to pull Parra over for having expired tags, he refused to stop and led them in a pursuit, the report stated. The officers lost sight of the vehicle, but later located it unoccupied and crashed in a field in the 2700 block of Redondo.

Officers still watching the house later saw Parra get out of his girlfriend’s pickup truck and he ran away from them when they yelled at him to get on the ground, the report stated.

Parra was taken to the ground and detectives found the cocaine in his socks, the report stated.

Inside the house, they found the fentanyl-laced M30 pills, according to the report.

Parra was arrested on suspicion of the first-degree felony of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest with a vehicle and evading arrest on foot.

Parra remained in the Ector County jail Wednesday night on surety bonds totaling $154,000.
