OPD seizes 111 grams of cocaine

An Odessa man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police said they discovered more than 111 grams of cocaine in his vehicle following a traffic stop.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, an officer pulled Jessie Munoz over after he failed to stop at a proper place at West 59th Street and Golder Avenue and failed to use his turn signal.

A drug-detecting canine officer alerted to Munoz’s Chevrolet Suburban and during a subsequent search officers found the cocaine under the center console cup holders, the report stated.

Munoz was arrested on suspicion of the first-degree felony charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. He remained in the Ector County jail Wednesday night on a $50,000 surety bond.
