One dead, two injured in Ector County house fire

One person died as a result of injuries from a house fire early Monday morning south of Odessa.
The fire occurred 12:28 a.m. at 575 E. Calcutta St., five miles south of Loop 338, an Ector County Sheriff’s Office news release stated.
When ECSO deputies and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the fire, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Three people were originally transported to Medical Center Hospital and two were later flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock for further treatment. The third person was treated and released from MCH. One person died after being flown to Lubbock, while the other was treated and released, the release stated.
The investigation as to the cause of the fire continues.
