Odessa YMCA Learning Center to host community open house

The Odessa Family YMCA is thrilled to announce a community open house for the Odessa YMCA Learning Center, scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23. This event will provide an opportunity for the media, community members, and future families to tour the Pre-K 3 facility, meet the dedicated teachers, and connect with families of students currently enrolled in the program, a press release detailed.

In an exclusive partnership with ECISD, the Odessa YMCA Learning Center offers a Frog Street 3 Curriculum, specifically designed for Pre-K to 3-year-old children. The facility is unique compared to other schools as it offers childcare before and after school.

“We are excited to invite prospective parents, community members, and the media to join us at the Odessa YMCA Learning Center’s community open house,” said Crissy Medina, CEO/President of the Odessa Family YMCA, in the release. “This event will allow us to showcase our exceptional Pre-K 3 program and the passionate educators who make it possible. We look forward to providing a welcoming and informative experience for all attendees.”

“This partnership with the YMCA is a tremendous benefit to our students and families as well as our community,” said ECISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Muri in the press release. “Three years ago, we made a commitment to create a high-quality Pre-K experience for our families, and we have seen significant results with a 24% increase in kindergarten readiness. The YMCA Learning Center is helping make that promise a reality, and children and their families are the real winners in this partnership.”

The Odessa YMCA Learning Center is located at 1111 Pagewood Avenue. For more information about the program, visit ectorcountyisd.org/prek.
