A 64-year-old Crockett man was killed Tuesday afternoon following a four-vehicle crash 20 miles outside Kermit.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jimmy Paul Walker was traveling east on State Highway 302 in a Ford F-250 when he traveled into the westbound lane, sideswiping a Ford F-350 being driven by a 25-year-old man from Hobbs, N.M. The driver of a Dodge Ram 3500, a 30-year-old man from Odessa, took evasive action to the right and sideswiped Walker. Walker then collided with a Volvo truck tractor with trailer being driven by a 45-year-old man from Levelland.
Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. All of the drivers were wearing seat belts; everyone but Walker emerged unscathed, according to DPS.
