Odessa man dies in two-vehicle collision

A 33-year-old Odessa man died after he was reportedly involved in a two-vehicle collision on the west side of Odessa.

The reported fatal collision happened at midnight June 15 on State Loop 338 at the University Boulevard Overpass, the Texas Department of Public Safety press release stated.

Ted R. Wesson, 33, of Odessa was reportedly driving a 2000 Nissan with passenger 20-year-old Alejandro R. Muro of Midland. The Nissan was traveling south on State Loop 338.

Esau M. Sanchez, 29, of Midland was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 5500 south on State Loop 338, a short distance behind the Nissan, the press release detailed.

The Nissan reportedly attempted to make a u-turn on the overpass and collided with the Dodge Ram. No one in the two-vehicle collision was wearing their seatbelts.

Muro was transported to Medical Center Hospital with incapacitating injuries, the press release stated. Sanchez was not injured in the collision.
