Odessa Arts set to honor volunteers

Odessa Arts is set to honor local arts volunteers during the Mark Tenniswood Volunteer in the Arts Black and White Ball on April 22 at MCM Eleganté Hotel.

The organization is set to recognize 17 honorees from different art agencies in the area, while also presenting former Odessa mayor Lorraine Perryman with the event’s Friend of the Arts award.

This year’s ceremony is also set to raise funds for the Odessa Spire public art project, which “aims to transform the old Cloth World sign into a beacon for Downtown Odessa,” an event release said.

Tickets are available for $75 per individual or $600 per table for Odessa Arts members, or $85 per individual and $750 per table for nonmembers. Tickets can be purchased at odessaarts.org, or by calling 432-337-1492.

The event is set for 6:30 p.m. April 22.

“We are pleased to see a record number of honorees from a broad spectrum of arts agencies this year,” Odessa Council for Arts and Humanities executive director Randy Ham said in a release for the event. “It is yet another example of the thriving cultural offerings here in the Permian Basin, and the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly every day to make our community better.”

The event is set to feature music by Bridger Bolton and Nick Conn, emceed by FOX 24 morning anchor Lupe Zapata.
