TxDOT Odessa has been working for months on developing an initiative called “The Basin 20” due to current and upcoming construction along IH 20.
One of the main goals of this new initiative is to keep motorists as informed as possible regarding travel times along the construction zone.
Message boards along east and westbound IH 20 main lanes are already in place indicating travel times to the next exit. A link showing motorists real-time data has also been created to help motorists plan their trips.
Construction along this corridor is going to continue to increase over time due to the roadway needs in the Odessa District.
