National Memorial Police Week took place from May 14-20 and in tribute to the sacrifices made by fallen officers, the families were invited to Washington, D.C.

As part of the commemorative events, law enforcement officers from the Odessa and Midland Police Department, along with members of the Ector and Midland Sheriff’s Office, gathered at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Their purpose was to hold an annual memorial service, paying respects to all Texas law enforcement personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty from May 2022 to May 2023. The service paid special tribute to the eight fallen law enforcement officers who are laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The fallen officers from the Midland Police Department and the Midland Sheriff’s Office were also honored during the memorial service.
