Mother, daughter fight lands both in jail

An Odessa mother and daughter were arrested Tuesday afternoon after witnesses said they got into a fight with each other while armed with a candle stick and kitchen knife.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers received a disturbance call around 2:20 p.m. Monday from the 1400 block of Woodlawn Drive.

When officers arrived, Tamaika Rochelle Green, 48, told them she and her daughter, Alexis Kisaya Contee, 23, got into an argument over stolen money and her daughter punched her and then threatened to kill her with a knife, the report stated. Green admitted she was armed with a candlestick at the time.

When officers spoke with Contee, she said her mother is the one who became physically aggressive first, threatening to “bash her head in” with a candlestick, the report stated. Contee acknowledged she was armed with a knife at the time.

Both women were arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Both women remained in the Ector County jail Tuesday night on $25,000 surety bonds.
