Midland motorcyclist killed

A 41-year-old Midland motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a pickup truck on State Highway 158 Saturday night.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Travis John Griffin was on his Harley Davidson when he failed to yield the right of way at State Highway 158 and South County Road 1110 and pulled out in front of a Ford F150 to turn left.

Griffin, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The 30-year-old Midland man driving the pickup wasn’t hurt.
