In honor of National Donate Life Month, the Life Champion Committee at Medical Center Health System will be hosting a Donor Memorial Service to recognize local and employee donors on Thursday.
The service will take place at the Donor Garden, located just outside of the Wheatley Stewart Medical Pavilion at 5 p.m.
Local employee donors and their families will be recognized for giving the gift of life and will be telling their personal stories of how donating has affected them and their family.
In 2022, there were 15 organ donors at Medical Center Hospital, resulting in 54 organs transplanted, as well as 21 tissue donors.
The end of the service will feature a powder cannon release in honor of those 2022 donors.
The event is free, and media is invited to attend.
