Man charged with bribing probation center worker to not test urine

A 31-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he reportedly offered a $500 bribe to a person that works at the Adult Probation Office to not test his urine.

Jonathan Agulto was charged with bribery, a second-degree felony.

The reported bribery happened at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday at the Adult Probation Office located at 312 N. Grant Ave., an Odessa Police Department affidavit detailed.

The complainant, identified as 50-year-old Carmen Witt, stated that Agulto offered her $500 cash to help him out by not providing a urine analysis, the affidavit stated. Witt stated that Agulto admitted to her that he has been using methamphetamine.

Officers read Agulto his Miranda warning, he understood his rights and would waive his rights to answer some questions about the incident, the affidavit detailed. Agulto admitted to offering Witt $500 cash so he wouldn’t have to take the urine analysis.

Agulto was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had one bond totaling $50,000 and posted bail on Wednesday, jail records show.
