Man charged with biting peace officer on arm

A 38-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly bit a peace officer outside a bar.

Jose Luis Fino was charged Sunday with assault on a public servant, a third-degree felony.

The reported assault happened at 1 a.m. Sunday at the MCM Grande Hotel and FunDome located at 6201 E. Highway 80, an Ector County Independent School District Police Department affidavit stated.

Fino was reportedly intoxicated and was asked to leave the bar. Fino reportedly became combative and officers had to physically grab him to escort him out.

Fino bit an officer working off-duty security on the right, upper-inner arm, the affidavit detailed. Fino was reportedly taken to the ground and handcuffed.

Fino was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He has one bond totaling $25,000 and was still in custody as of Tuesday morning, jail records show.
