A 42-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a 10-year-old girl reported he raped her.
According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, the girl’s mother came into the sheriff’s office on June 2 and told authorities her daughter had been violated by Manases Abrego Castillo.
The girl told a forensic interviewer at Harmony Home Children’s Advocacy Center that Castillo raped and sodomized her, the report stated. She also underwent a sexual assault nurse examination.
According to the report, Castillo failed to show up for a June 7 interview with investigators.
Castillo was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He remains in the Ector County jail on a $100,000 surety bond and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
