Odessa’s Barn Door Restaurant will be featured on the Feb. 19 and 20 episodes of the statewide Texas Country Reporter TV show.
Barn Door co-owner Roy Gillian said Wednesday that the 30-minute episode will air at 6:35 p.m. Saturday and 10:35 p.m. Sunday on KWES TV, Channel 9. It’ll be shown nationally at various times on RFD TV during the weekend of Feb. 26.
“My wife Tami and I are very excited about it and glad that Bob and Kelli Phillips thought we were worthy of being on the program,” Gillian said.
Explaining that they had never expected to be on TCR, he said, “We try to watch it every Sunday night.
“I love hearing all the stories and getting to know more about Texas. There’s a bridge at San Saba, on the way to where my daughter lives in Temple, that they drive over at the start of each show.”
Gillian said Tami will not be on the program because she was busy that day in February last year at Johnny’s Barbecue in Midland, which the couple also owns, but that the Phillipses said they might return one day to feature Johnny’s.
