Literacy Coalition launches Laura Bush Ladies for Literacy

The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin has announced the launch of the Laura Bush Ladies for Literacy, an initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading and advancing literacy in the community.

“I’m proud West Texas women have united to improve the literacy levels and skills of all people in our home, the Permian Basin. And I’m especially grateful that you named it for me, ” former First Lady Laura Bush said in a news release.

Membership is now open. The LBLL is delighted to offer a unique opportunity for local educators. The release said the first 50 applicants will have their first year’s membership dues paid for by the support of the Abell Hanger Foundation.
