Harmony Science Academy Odessa sent a letter out that one of its students has died.
The letter, dated April 10, is signed by Principal Yuksel Kocak. It says, in part: “It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I inform you of the devastating news of the passing of one of our beloved students. To respect the privacy of the student’s family, we cannot provide any details as of this moment.”
“As a school community, we are grieving together and offering our support to one another during this time of profound loss. We understand that this news may evoke a range of emotions and reactions among our school community members. Please know that we are here to support each other and provide whatever assistance and resources may be needed.”
The letter detailed additional counselors and support volunteers are available for students and staff in the coming week. Details regarding campus memorial services and opportunities for the school community to come together to honor the student will be communicated as they become available.
