GUEST VIEW: ECRP does NOT allow citizens to vote

By Ronnie Lewis

Another week and another attack on me just because I’m fighting for Ector County Republicans and the RIGHT TO VOTE. And every time I am attacked in a letter to the Editor, I will write a rebuttal.

Freda Daniels, another appointed (not elected by her constituents) precinct chair, has come forward to do exactly what she was appointed to do….protect Tisha Crow from facing an opponent.

Freda referenced Ryan Patton’s County Commissioner race in her letter. Which I’m so glad she did. She proved my point! The voters in Precinct 2 had the opportunity to vote for Patton, but over 76% of the voters chose other candidates. Proving the voters of Ector County are informed, smart, and capable of making the right decision. This completely destroys Freda’s entire letter and the precinct chairs’ argument that a “democratic operative” could possibly take over the ECRP. It’s ludicrous! And for Freda to insinuate something that happened in ultra liberal Travis County (Austin Texas) could possibly happen in the oilfields of West Texas is insulting.

In 2021, Richard Pierce who is the only precinct chair duly elected by Republican voters, tried to get on the ballot to run against Tisha. He was denied by the precinct chairs. He is definitely a Republican and more than qualified. Basically, there are no qualifications needed to become County Chair other than being a Republican. This proves that Tisha and her precinct chairs aren’t scared of Democrats infiltrating the party. They are just simply scared. Scared that Tisha can’t win an election. They are using the optional requirement only as an excuse to keep power. Let’s not let what happened to Pierce in 2021 happen again. Let’s make sure Ector County Republicans have a vote!

If you disagree with any ECRP board members they sophomorically label you as a Democrat. Freda Daniels thinks the voters that have written letters to the editor are all “Democratic minions.” Just more tacky name calling that is so typical of Tisha Crow’s Executive Board. This can easily be dispelled at the elections office but you can bet no fact checking was done, just knee jerk name calling. This is exactly what makes me work harder for Ector County Republicans. The name calling, the bullying, the intimidation needs to stop. Let’s bring class back to the ECRP. Let’s make the ECRP nice again. Let’s open up the Ector Country Republican Headquarters.

Freda like the other appointed precinct chairs call me a “keyboard warrior”….but they know better. I am out every day talking to voters about the right to vote. I talk to voters one at a time at the bank, at the Post Office…I’ll speak at the Rotary Club, Bridge Club, Country Club, Night Club, Motorcycle Club…I’ll speak anywhere. Just holler at me.

But I’ve yet to hear where Tisha Crow is speaking publicly to voters explaining they’re not smart enough or “Republican enough” to elect Party Leadership. I’m selling the right to vote (like hotcakes) while Tisha Crow and her appointed executive board are desperately trying to keep her from facing an opponent….Tisha knows she can’t win an election. It is hard to sell “you’re just not smart enough to vote”.

If you are interested in helping save our Republican Party and would like to get involved let me know. Our movement is growing! It’s exciting. Big things to come!
