Guadalupe Mountains National Park implements preventative measures due to increased fire risk 

GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK The prolonged hot, dry, and windy weather has increased fire danger, leading to extremely dry vegetation that is highly susceptible to even the smallest of sparks.

Effective Tuesday, July 5, and until further notice, smoking is prohibited, except inside personal vehicles, at Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

No campfires, charcoal, or propane fire rings are allowed in Guadalupe Mountains National Park at any time of year.
