Ector County District Attorney Dusty Gallivan will ask county commissioners a 10 a.m. Tuesday regular meeting to bolster the investigation and prosecution of adult sexual assault cases by creating a six-member response team.
Gallivan, who took office last January, will propose creating a team consisting of a chief administrator, a prosecutor, representatives of the Odessa Police Department and sheriff’s office, a sexual assault nurse examiner or forensic examiner, a behavioral health services provider and a presiding officer as recommended by the team.
In other business, the court will consider accepting the by-laws of the library advisory board and expanding the panel by naming Feliz Abalos, Kellie Wilks and Tehisha Muhammad additional members of it.
The commissioners will also:
>> Appoint a representative to the appraisal board.
>> Discuss donating $49,038 to the Odessa Council for the Arts and Humanities.
>> Hear a proposal from sheriff’s information technology specialist Stephen White to install ice shields on the radio towers at Notrees and Penwell.
>> Consider White’s request to repair antenna lines at the county jail and the Penwell tower.
>> Review a plan submitted by the Odessa-Schleymeyer Field Airport Advisory Board to buy a foreign objects debris sweeper.
>> Consider authorizing a geotechnical investigation by the Landgraf-Crutcher Associates engineering company for the $25-million juvenile detention center that’s slated for construction adjacent to the jail just south of town off U.S. 385.
>> Discuss leasing a mobile clinic for the health department.
