RETIREMENT
Odessa Police Department Detective Rene Chavez retired Jan. 28 after 22 years of service.
He was born and raised in Odessa, went to Odessa High School. He recently received the 2021 “Top Gun Award,” for being the best shooter at OPD that year.
PRESIDENT’S LIST
HUNTSVILLE Emma Emiliano of Odessa and Clemente Camarillo of Pecos were named on the President’s Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University for the fall semester.
Undergraduates who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.
DEAN’S LIST
HUNTSVILLE Local and area students have been named to the Dean’s List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville for the fall semester.
Students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.
Honored students are: Emma Emiliano and Jessica Machuca, both of Odessa; Clemente Camarillo of Pecos; and Beverly Fehr of Seminole.
