Gale Pond Alamo staff surprised with Consuela bags

On a whim this summer, Gale Pond Alamo STEAM Academy Principal Elisha Sessions filled out an application to be part of the Consuela “It’s Not About the Bag” program that celebrates women who impact the world in positive ways.

At first, she was told the program typically celebrates only one or two people at a time. However, later that same day the company called back and told her they were going to make this group celebration happen.

Fast forward to Friday, the staff at Gale Pond Alamo (the entire staff) received the gift of a Consuela bag, with other goodies inside, and a certificate recognizing them as part of the “It’s Not About the Bag” program.

In a Zoom call during an afternoon assembly, a Consuela representative told them, “The It’s Not About the Bag program is a reflection of the heart behind the Consuela brand, to uplift, to celebrate and to recognize the amazing people like all of you today that are positively impacting our lives.”

Consuela will recognize the GPA staff on its website on Nov. 8, National STEAM Day.

The best part of all of this, Friday was Pajama Day at Gale Pond Alamo so the pictures shared online will show the staff in their PJs! Elementary school life.
