In an effort to eliminate the illegal dumping in Ector County, the Ector County Environmental Enforcement Unit is providing a free scrap tire drop-off for residents of Ector County from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ector County Highways and Streets Department, 7613 W. Dunn St.
“Scrap tires generated from a commercial business be accepted,” Environmental Enforcement Director Rickey George said. “We are only accepting scrap tires from Ector County residents who have tires on their property. There is a limited amount of tires that we will be able to accept at this event, so be early and expect long lines. Tires with the rims still on them and large heavy equipment tires or tractor tires will not be accepted.”
