Four suspects facing robbery charge

Four people were arrested Saturday after an Odessa man said he was attacked by a large group of people over a debt he owed.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, the alleged victim told police he received text messages asking him to mow a lawn in the 300 block of Foster and that when he arrived, he was escorted into the back yard by five men and two women.

Once in the backyard, the man told police he recognized “G” and “G” had been messaging his family saying he owed “G” money.

According to the report, the five men began punching and kicking him and the two women poured weed killer and something similar to pepper spray on him. He told officers the group stole his wallet and when he ran to his vehicle, they stole some of his lawn care equipment and tools.

Less than an hour later, police found Herschel Williams and Donyeala Williams loading the stolen items in their car, the report stated.

Donyeala Williams admitted luring the alleged victim to the scene and his wallet and phone were found in her purse, the report stated.

The man identified Aubre Ramirez and Jayslon McAfee from Facebook photos as being two of his assailants and he recognized Hershel Williams on the scene as another one, the report stated.

Herschel Williams, Donyeala Williams, Aubre Ramirez and Jayslon McAfee were all arrested on suspicion of robbery, a second-degree felony. The Williams also face a misdemeanor marijuana charge.

Donyeala Williams was released from the Ector County jail Monday after posting a $20,000 surety bond and Aubre Ramirez was released after posting a $25,000 surety bond.

Herschel Williams remained in custody on a $20,000 surety bond. McAfee’s bail was set at $25,000 and he remained in custody Monday as well.
