Fatal fire in North Odessa claims two lives; OPD, OFR investigating

Two people are dead following a fire that occurred early this morning in North Odessa.
On May 19, 2019 at approximately 0351 hours, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the 1300 block of East 44th Street in reference to a structure fire.
Upon arrival, officers observed a house engulfed in flames. Two subjects were located inside of the residence and pronounced deceased by the Ector County Medical Examiner’s Office. There were no reports of any other injuries and both decedents have yet to be identified at this time.
The Odessa Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and Odessa Fire Marshals Office are currently investigating. Both decedents will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy and more information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
The investigation continues.
