Presentations top ECISD agenda

Presentations on proposed revisions to the Ector County ISD medical plan and reports on beginning of the year MAP scores and the district’s STEM Action plan are on the agenda for a board of trustees workshop Tuesday.

The workshop starts at 6 p.m. and will be held in the first floor board room of the administration building, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.

Supplemental agenda material says the Medical Plan changes and updates will be presented by Yolanda Gordon, benefits and risk management director and Eric Smith, benefits coordinator.

The changes include moving from Blue Cross Blue Shield to AETNA. The presentation will also include changes in the pharmacy administration, information about an employee wellness clinic, and updates on the strategic focus of the employee experience, the material said.

On the Measure of Academic Progress, or MAP presentation, results and participation will be discussed.

Administration of the test is in fall (September); winter (January); spring (April); and summer (June).

Board reports are in October, March and June.

The information shows there was better participation at the beginning of this year than last.

A presentation on the district’s STEM Action Plan is also on the agenda. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.
