White House Champion of Change Dr. Greg Gage will be in ECISD classrooms today and was also here Thursday.
Electrical engineer, neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and TED speaker, Gage is a speaker and teacher. His company, Backyard Brains, endeavors to make “Neuroscience for Everyone!”
He is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan. Gage is a really fun, down-to-earth educator whose passion is K-12 STEM.
Gage will be on ECISD campuses both days leading workshops for teachers and students to learn together, offering hands-on learning, and delivering TED-style presentations for students. Gage will be at the Odessa High School Performing Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. During that time, four separate sessions for students from 37 campuses will be presented. He begins with a TED-style talk before engaging kids with hands-on activities including electrophysiology (reading brain signals).
