2 students to receive awards of new Ford vehicles

Odessa College invites the public to join them for the 15th anniversary of the annual Odessa College Drive to Success Finale at 5:30 p.m. in the Saulsbury Campus Center Cafeteria Patio and the Commons Area of the main OC campus with entertainment provided by the OC Jazz Band.

This year to celebrate the 15th year of the student incentive program, two students will each win the Grand Prize of a brand, new Ford vehicle –– either a 2023 Ford Mustang and a Ford F-150.

At the Finale, 10 student finalists will each stand beside one of the 10 Ford vehicles provided for the ceremony by the Sewell Family of Companies. OC President Gregory D. Williams will draw two key fobs out of a fish bowl containing the key fobs from all of the vehicles and press the alarm button on one of the key fobs. The person standing beside the vehicle whose alarm sounds will be the winner of the Ford Mustang. President Gregory Williams will then press the alarm button of the second key fob, and the person standing beside the second vehicle whose alarm goes off will win the Ford F-150. The remaining eight student finalists will each receive a cash prize.

Representatives from the DTS sponsors the Sewell Family of Companies, Rosa’s/Taco Villa, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Complex Community Federal Credit Union, and the event media sponsor, CBS 7 will also be present to celebrate the finalists’ success.

Drive to Success is OC’s way of encouraging student engagement by giving students the opportunity to earn prizes for doing things that are proven to increase their overall success in college.
