ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS June 10, 2019

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDON/ENDANGER CHILD

  • Antonio Escobedo Jr., 24, pleaded guilty May 31 to abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. Escobedo also had a charge of injury to a child dismissed as part of the deal. Trotter approved the deal. Bret Mansur was the defense attorney.

ASSAULT

  • Jairus Martin Llanez, 18, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt April 16 on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Whalen approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.
  • Elgin James Castillo, 37, was acquitted by a jury May 9 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush presided. David Rogers was the defense attorney.
  • Marcus Sanchez Torres, 47, was acquitted by a jury May 14 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush presided. B.J. Brown was the defense attorney.
  • Asa Wallace Dagley, 27, was sentenced to four years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt May 17 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.
  • Michael Bryan Templeton, 41, was convicted guilty by a jury May 23 for assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation and was sentenced to eight years in prison. Rush approved the deal. Lawrence Barber Jr. was the defense attorney.
  • Jose Roman Gonzalez, 39, pleaded guilty May 24 to assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation; assault of a public servant; and injury to a child, elderly or disabled person with intent to cause bodily injury and was sentenced to seven years probation and deferred adjudication. Gonzalez also had a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, dismissed as part of the deal. Rush approved the deal. Matt Thomas was the defense attorney.
  • Michael Roy Guzman Jr., 33, was sentenced to six years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt May 29 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Whalen approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.
  • Talvis Diamond Jefferson, 31, pleaded guilty May 29 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Jefferson also had four additional counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and five counts of aggravated robbery dismissed as part of the deal. Smith approved the deal.   • Richard Cross, 46, pleaded guilty May 31 to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.   • Tye De’angelo Kendrick, 20, pleaded guilty May 31 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 10 years probation and deferred adjudication. Rush approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.
  • Jose Cruz Licon, 44, had charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence), assault of a family or household member with a previous conviction and violation of a protective order dismissed May 31 because the victim would not cooperate with prosecution and the defendant pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.   • Aaron Ortiz Pando, 35, pleaded guilty May 31 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence) and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Whalen approved the deal. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney.

BURGLARY

  • Benjamin Sebastian Sanchez, 40, pleaded guilty May 29 to burglary of a building and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail. Trotter approved the deal. Jason Leach was the defense attorney.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

  • William Patrick Gleason, 61, pleaded guilty May 29 to driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to two years in prison. Smith approved the deal. Robert Garcia was the defense attorney.
  • Brian Castillo Campos, 37, pleaded guilty June 3 to driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to four years in prison. Campos also had another charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more, dismissed as part of the deal. Smith approved the deal. Tony Chavez was the defense attorney.
  • Jeffrey Glenn Sprowl, 57, pleaded guilty June 4 to driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to five years in prison. Trotter approved the deal. Justin Low was the defense attorney.

FRAUDULENT POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

  • Jennifer Arellano, 41, had a charge of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, less than five items, dismissed May 10 because she pleaded guilty to the case in county court. Smith presided. John Bickham was the defense attorney.

OBSTRUCTION/RETALIATION 

  • D’andra Palomino Florez, 39, had a charge of obstruction or retaliation dismissed May 24 because she pleaded guilty to charges in another case. Rush presided. Justin Low was the defense attorney.

  • Miguel Angel Chuca, 25, pleaded guilty May 29 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication. Whalen approved the deal. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney.
  • Victor Devora-Blanco, 36, was sentenced to four years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt May 29 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, one gram or more but less than four grams. Whalen approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.
  • Fabian Gonzalez Jr., 21, was sentenced to 18 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt May 29 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Whalen approved the deal. Marc Chastain was the defense attorney.
  • Michelle Cherree Tobin, 50, pleaded guilty May 29 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication. Whalen approved the deal. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney.

  • Jacob Martin Delossantos, 39, pleaded guilty May 31 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram and was sentenced to 10 months in state jail. Rush approved the deal. Tony Chavez was the defense attorney.
  • Valerie Fulcher, 29, was sentenced to 20 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt May 31 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Whalen approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.
  • Eric Abila Medrano, 31, pleaded guilty May 31 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to 14 months in state jail.   • Enjoli Nicole Miles, 38, pleaded guilty May 31 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication.   • Donovan Rodriguez, 27, had a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, dismissed May 31 because he is already serving seven years in prison. Whalen presided. The defense attorney was not listed.

ROBBERY

  • Carlos Enrique Talamantes, 36, pleaded guilty May 2 to robbery and stalking and had his probation revoked. Talamantes was sentenced to six years in prison. Whalen approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.

THEFT

  • Hervey Levario Jr., 32, had a charge of theft of property, $2,500 or more but less than $30,000, dismissed May 13 because restitution was paid in full. Smith presided. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney.
  • Justin Luciano Hernandez, 24, was sentenced to three years probation in an order adjudicating guilt May 29 on a charge of theft of a firearm. Smith approved the deal. Matt Thomas was the defense attorney.
  • Edward Gochicoa Palomino, 32, had a charge of theft of property, $2,500 or more but less than $30,000, dismissed May 30. Whalen presided. B.J. Brown was the defense attorney.
  • Oscar Franco Jr., 52, pleaded guilty May 31 to theft with previous convictions and was sentenced to 13 months in state jail. Trotter approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.
  • Anthony Lee Vasquez, 27, had a charge of theft of property, $30,000 or more but less than $150,000, dismissed June 3 because the victim no longer wants to prosecute. Trotter presided. Tony Chavez was the defense attorney.
