The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.
ABANDON/ENDANGER CHILD
- Antonio Escobedo Jr., 24, pleaded guilty May 31 to abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. ASSAULT
- Jairus Martin Llanez, 18, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt April 16 on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Whalen approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.
- Elgin James Castillo, 37, was acquitted by a jury May 9 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush presided. David Rogers was the defense attorney.
- Marcus Sanchez Torres, 47, was acquitted by a jury May 14 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush presided. B.J. Brown was the defense attorney.
- Asa Wallace Dagley, 27, was sentenced to four years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt May 17 on a charge of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction. Rush approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.
- Michael Bryan Templeton, 41, was convicted guilty by a jury May 23 for assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation and was sentenced to eight years in prison. Rush approved the deal. Lawrence Barber Jr. was the defense attorney.
- Jose Roman Gonzalez, 39, pleaded guilty May 24 to assault of a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation; assault of a public servant; and injury to a child, elderly or disabled person with intent to cause bodily injury and was sentenced to seven years probation and deferred adjudication. Gonzalez also had a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, dismissed as part of the deal. Rush approved the deal. Matt Thomas was the defense attorney.
- Michael Roy Guzman Jr., 33, was sentenced to six years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt May 29 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Whalen approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.
- Talvis Diamond Jefferson, 31, pleaded guilty May 29 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
