DPS searching for suspect involved in fatal hit and run

The Texas Department of Public Safety is looking for a suspect in connection to a fatal hit and run that happened early Saturday morning.

The reported fatal hit and run occurred at 2:20 a.m. June 18 on Loop 338 post 284 about 3.7 miles south of Odessa, the DPS press release detailed.

DPS detailed the pedestrian was identified as 31-year-old David Keohavong of Rossville, Ga. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ector County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Preliminary information shows an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Loop 338 at mile post 284, the press release stated. Koehavong was intoxicated and in the roadway. The pedestrian was struck by the unknown vehicle, which fled the scene.
