ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS: February 14, 2022

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDON ENDANGER

Daniel James Lindsey, 27, had an abandon endanger child criminal negligence charge dismissed Jan. 31. Judge Justin Low presided. Luis A. Chavez was the attorney.

ACCIDENT INVOLVING INJURY

Ruben Noel Salcedo, 27, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to accident involving injury was sentenced to 5years in probation and 5 years in prison (suspended). Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

ASSAULT

Michael Joel Tucker, 37, had an assault family/house member impede breath/circulation charge dismissed Feb. 7. Judge John W. Smith presided

Tyree Rashand James, 53, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to an assault of a pregnant woman and six years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

BAIL JUMPING

Marco Antonio Perez, 37, had a bail jumping and fail to appear felony dismissed Feb. 8. Judge James Rush presided.

BURGLARY

David Allan Freeman, 52, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to burglary of building and was sentenced to nine months in state jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Jerry Don South, 37, had a burglary of building charge dismissed Jan. 31. Judge Justin Low presided. Adrian Chavez was the attorney.

CONTINUOUS VIOLENCE

Mathew Daniel Poland, 25, pleaded guilty continuous violence against the family (Fv)(F3) and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Jason Schoel was the attorney.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Elgin James Castillo, 40, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to criminal mischief, more than $2,500, but less than $30,000 and was sentenced to nine months in state jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

DWI

Eva Dominguez Chavarria, 46, had her probation revoked Feb. 1 on the charge of driving while intoxicated third or more and was sentenced to two years probation. Judge W. Stacy Trotter approved the deal. Tony Chavez was the attorney.

Gerardo Galindo, 38, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal Feb. 1 on the charge of driving while intoxicated third or more. Judge Denn Whalen presided. Gary Garrison was the attorney.

James Little, 34, pleaded guilty Feb. 1 on the charge of driving while intoxicated third or more and was sentenced to 10 years probation and 10 years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Tommy W. Hull was the attorney.

ESCAPE WHILE ARRESTED/CONFINED FELONY

Joseph Nava, 20, had his probation revoked Dec. 2 on the charge of escape while arrested/confined felony and was sentenced to three years in prison. Judge Justin Low presided.

EVADING ARREST

Alexis Omar Castaneda, 22, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to evading arrest detain with vehicle and was sentenced to three years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Joe Zamora Chavez, Jr., 31, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to evading arrest detain with vehicle and was sentenced to five years in probation and five years in prison (suspended). Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Mark Henry Williams, 38, pleaded guilty Feb. 2 to evading arrest detain with previous conviction and 15 months in state jail. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Ricardo Mendoza, 26, pleaded guilty Feb. 1 on the charge of evading arrest detain with vehicle and was sentenced to five years probation and five years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Richard C. Abalos was the attorney.

FORGERY

Marco Antonio Perez, 27, had a forgery financial instrument charge dismissed Feb. 8. Judge James Rush presided. Matt Byrne and Matthew Pospisil were the attorney’s.

Sandra Jean Portillo, 51, had a forgery financial instrument charge dismissed Feb. 2. Judge Denn Whalen presided. Matt L. Thomas was the attorney.

FRAUD

Candyce Lee Chazel, 63, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of obtaining or attempting to obtain a license by fraud and was sentenced to five years probation in deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

HARASSMENT OF PUBLIC SERVANT

Angel Prince Villalpando, 27, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of harassment of a public servant and was sentenced to four years probation in deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

INDECENCY WITH CHILD

Jose Enrique Navarrete, 22, had an indecency with a child (sexual contact)(F2) case dismissed Feb. 7. Judge Justin Low presided.

INJURY CHILD/ELDERLY/DISABLE

Bonnie Barnhill, 61, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to injury child/elderly/disable with intentional bodily injury and was sentenced two years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Michael Randy Muniz, 43, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of injury to a child/elderly/disable with internal bodily injury and was sentenced to three years in prison. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

MANUFACTURE DELIVERY

Christopher Joe Scott, 34, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance, more than four grams, but less than 200 grams, (F1) and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Jazlynn Maia Oropeza, 19, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance, more than four grams, but less than 200 grams, and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

ONLINE SOLICIT

Camilo Lopez, 38, had an online solicit of a minor sexual conduct charge dismissed Feb. 2. Judge John Shrode presided.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Baltazar Gonzales Vera, Jr., 21, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal Feb. 7 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Judge James Rush presided. Matt L. Thomas was the attorney.

Billy Joe Scott, 42, had a possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, charge dismissed Feb. 7. Judge James Rush presided.

Jason Alan Argabright, 44, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to 164 days in county jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Jennifer Nicole Surratt, 33, pleaded guilty Feb. 1 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, (Sjf) and was sentenced to 730 days in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Jason Leach was the attorney.

Kareene Awar Frazier, 38, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to possession of a controlled substance, more than one gram, but less than four grams, and was sentenced to two years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Michael Curtis Robertson, 36, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance less than one gram and was sentenced to 16 months in state jail. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Michael Randy Muniz, 43, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance less than one gram and was sentenced to 18 months state jail. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Misty Michelle Baker, 41, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to 57 days in county jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Rance Lynn Palmore, 29, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance, more than four grams, less than 200 grams, and was sentenced to 5 years probation in deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the attorney.

Rodrigo Munoz Martinez, 35, had a possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, dismissed Feb. 8. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Jesse Dwight Connally, 73, had 10 counts of possession of child pornography charges dismissed Feb. 1. Judge Denn Whalen presided. Scott Layh was the attorney.

ROBBERY

Jessie Nathaniel Tapia, 21, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 on the charge of aggravated robbery and was sentenced to life in prison in order of adjudicating guilt. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Mike Holmes was the attorney.

STALKING

Michael Anthony Herrera, 32, had a stalking charge dismissed Feb. 2. Judge Justin Low presided. Jason Leach was the attorney.

TAMPER/FABRICATE

Michael Randy Muniz, 43, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of tamper/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and was sentenced to three years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

Reyes Anthony Carranza, 28, pleaded guilty Feb. 4 on the charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and was sentenced to five years probation in deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Zachary Lee Gallagher, 50, had his probation revoked Jan. 26 on the charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen presided.

THEFT

Desmond Ray Morris, 34, had a theft of firearm (SJF) charge dismissed Feb. 2. Judge Tryon D. Lewis presided. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

Jaime Garcia, Jr., 29, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to theft property, more than $2,500, but less than $30,000 and was sentenced to 167 days in county jail. Judge John Shrode approved the deal. J. Roxane Blount was the attorney.
