68-year-old woman charged with burglary

Police charged a 68-year-old woman Saturday after she reportedly broke into another man’s residence.

Officers responded to the incident around 5:51 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of East 42nd Street in reference to a burglary, according to an OPD news release.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 60-year-old complainant, who told them an unknown woman was inside his residence.

Officers made contact with the woman, 68-year-old Linda Letcher, who reportedly entered the residence through the front door and took property that did not belong to her, the release detailed.

Letcher was charged with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony.

Jail records show Letcher was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Sunday and has a $25,000 bond.
