City offers help with ambulance bills

The City of Odessa’s billing and collection department recently started a program for people who are struggling financially and having difficulty paying for ambulance services.

Certain residents who were transported by Odessa Fire Rescue beginning Oct. 1, 2021 can ask to have their bill reduced by 25% or 50% or enroll in a payment plan for as little as $25 a month.

The EMS Hardship Assistance Program will remain in effect through Sept. 30.

Those who live in the 79761 or 79763 zip code qualify for the program, as do those who have a credit score below 550 or live below the federal poverty income level.

Interested parties can apply by calling the city at 432-335-5797, emailing [email protected] or visiting the city’s website at www.odessa-tx.gov.
