Chamber celebrates Texas Chamber Week

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating Texas Chamber Week Oct. 17-21, with a fun-filled week of Chamber Trivia on Facebook. Trivia questions will posted each day and all correct answers will be entered into a drawing. There will be daily winners and a grand prize at the end of the week.

The Chamber was founded in 1934 with the intentions of uniting small and large businesses in Odessa to represent members’ interests. The board of directors establishes additional goals, areas of focus and plans of work to ensure a strong return on investment for partners, chamber officials said.

Chambers of Commerce have often been viewed by some as socializing bodies with the purpose of allowing business owners to network. Although connecting businesses with consumers is still a valuable resource, today’s Chamber has developed into more, a news release said. The Odessa Chamber works in numerous capacities to promote economic and community development, while serving as an advocate for Odessa businesses, training future leaders and promoting Odessa and attractions to visitors, all while helping to improve quality of life for local residents, the release said.

Texas Chamber of Commerce week is a time to celebrate the Odessa Chamber’s history as a trusted resource leading business-to-business exchange opportunities, the release said. More than 740 members of the Chamber benefit from a broad range of activities that enhance the visibility and reputation of their business, the release said. The Chamber has always taken the lead to celebrate the best qualities of Odessa and make its residents proud of where we live, work and raise families, the release said.
