Texas Tech University’s Centennial Celebration is in full swing, and now we’re bringing the party to you.
A mobile billboard is hitting the road to promote the Texas Tech Centennial celebrations across the state, including the Permian Basin at the end of March The tour will showcase Texas Tech in a fun and creative manner at various locations, including high schools and Texas Tech Alumni Association chapter events. At each tour stop, guests can have their photos taken on the truck and take home Centennial swag.
Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec will join the tour at several stops, including Bowie High School in Austin, Wylie and Wylie East high schools near Dallas and six Lubbock-area high schools, where he’ll speak to approximately 6,600 Texas high school students.
“Our Centennial truck is going to be a really fun way to share our message across the state of Texas,”Blayne Beal, director of Centennial coordination, said in a news release. “Having this massive billboard take to the Texas highways will draw a lot of attention to our Centennial and to Texas Tech as a whole. We think this is a great example of bold and creative thinking, which is what we work to inspire in our students. You only get to celebrate your Centennial once, and this will be a fun way to share our Red Raider pride with the entire state and hopefully recruit a few more Red Raiders.”
