National Travel & Tourism Week is May 1 to May 7 and Discover Odessa wants the public to celebrate with them.
Discover Odessa will kick off National Travel & Tourism Week on April 30 with their Discover Odessa Bus Tour, the press release stated. To help celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week, be sure to follow Discover Odessa on their social media channels as they highlight local businesses, attractions and upcoming events.
Over the past 2 years, tourism has been impacted by COVID-19, however Discover Odessa are excited to start to see past the horizon. New businesses are opening, oil is back on the rise, people are planning their next trips and this is all great news for Odessa.
“The Discover Odessa Staff works at bringing conferences and events into our community. National Travel and Tourism Week gives us an opportunity to showcase what Odessa has to offer and what makes us unique. Visitors in Odessa and stay in our hotels contribute to the hotel occupancy funds and as they shop and eat, they are contributing to the sales tax funds. Both funds help improve the quality of life in Odessa. Be sure to check out our social media and website to learn more about things to do and see in Odessa,” Discover Odessa Director Monica Tschauner stated in a press release.
Here’s how the public can celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week with Discover Odessa:
>> April 30: The Discover Odessa Bus Tour is on April 30th with two tour times, 9 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Event is sold out) Attendees will get to learn more about Odessa by making stops at the Stonehenge, Jack Ben Rabbit, Mirage sculpture by Albert Paley, The Odessa Spire, Presidential Archives, Permian High School Hall of Fame, and The Ector Theatre. Attendees will be able to win fun prizes, snacks and drinks. The tour will be guided by Executive Director of Odessa Arts Randy Ham.
>> May 1 to May 7: Throughout the week, Discover Odessa invites the public to stay connected with them on our social media channels (@DiscoverOdessa) and website (DiscoverOdessa.Org) as we will be highlighting local businesses, attractions and events.
>> May 1: Learn how to participate in Discover Odessa’s Mural Photo Contest. Discover Odessa is asking the public to enter in the contest by taking a photo in front of any of the Mural’s listed in our Discover Odessa Mural Guide and post/tag their photo on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Stay tuned for more details on DiscoverOdessa.org or following on social media at @DiscoverOdessa. The contest will run from May 1 to May 8.
>> May 3: Tune in for the Discover Odessa Podcast Presented by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce. Podcast will be streamed on Spotify. In the Discover Odessa Podcast, the public will get an inside look of local business, local entrepreneurs, non-profits, hear fun facts, things to do, and much more from the locals that help shape Odessa.
