CCFCU partners with UTPB for fashion show

University of Texas Permian Basin students received financial tips on selecting an affordable outfit for interviews and interview advice from Complex Community Federal Credit Union during CCFCU’s first Career Fashion Show, a CCFCU press release stated.

Students were served lunch, gifted door prizes, and a chance to win a $500 scholarship. Students learned about common mistakes made during interviews and how to dress for success on a budget.

“These are tips no one tells you; we normally learn by mistake. We wanted the students to be able to understand how to not make the mistakes that we made early in our careers and to know how to present their best selves at an interview” Stephanie Griffin, UTPB Program Coordinator for International Student Services, Financial Literacy, and Foster Care Liaison, said in the press release.

CCFCU promotes financial capabilities in the community to equip individuals for opportunities in life. The credit union has been active in the local school districts teaching financial capabilities to students and regularly hosts events to prepare students for success through career readiness and financial capabilities.

The event was held on Thursday at the University of Texas Permian Basin Multi-Purpose room in the Mesa Building located at 4901 E University Blvd. The event concluded with the announcement of the $500 scholarship.
