BRASWELL: Remembering

By Dr. Jimmy Braswell

Chaplain, Home Hospice of Odessa

Loss, a part of all our lives. We have physical loss, emotional, spiritual losses and often we feel alone in our recovery. Except for very few around us, and we are so grateful for them, it seems the world just goes on again and barely stops but for a moment to remember and acknowledge those who have died.

As a result, we often have some complications in our lives. In this hurried and forgetful world, we often don’t have or take the time to recover our balance physically, emotionally, spiritually, and even intellectually.

We need to take time to remember. That’s what a memorial service, or funeral, is about, but is just the beginning.

The three days off from work is not enough time. For this reason, we at Home Hospice are offering a “Grief Share” series of meetings to remember. Starting Aug. 22 and every Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. until Nov. 21 at the Home Hospice Office – 619 N. Grant.

All meetings are free of charge and welcomed to all. These meetings are designed to help us cope with the complications that have caved in upon us since our loss. Join me as facilitator as we journey through our grief and seek to find a peace and joy with our lives as we continue the journey. God’s peace.
