Board to consider hiring principals, top executives

The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees will consider several hires during their 6 p.m. meeting April 16 in the first floor board room of the administration building, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.

The meeting will also include an update on the 2023 bond issue and special presentations.

The board will consider 2024-25 contract renewals for administrators, teachers, and professional support employees and the hiring of principals at Buice and Cavazos elementary schools.

They will also consider hiring an executive director of leadership and an executive director of guidance and counseling.

Presentation of 2024 CoSN Chief Technology Officer of the Year Award to Dr. Kellie Wilks is also on the agenda.

CoSN, a premier association of K-12 education technology leaders, recently honored Wilks with its 2024 Withrow National Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Year Award in Miami, Fla.

The CoSN Withrow CTO Award recognizes an exceptional district CTO who serves as a true technology champion and whose leadership has been transformative for their school system. The award honors Frank Withrow, a pioneer and champion of K-12 education technology.

Also on the agenda are:

  • Recognition of the Permian High School Students who Qualified for International Thespian Contest.
  • Recognition of Career and Technology Education State Qualifiers.
  • Presentation of Spirit Scholarship Winners from Odessa High School and Permian High School.
