Odessa police say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Thursday night when crossing a street without a crosswalk in West Odessa.
Cody Rutherford, 18, attempted to walk across 16th near Palomar Lane without a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, an Odessa police release states.
Rutherford was taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Jeep was driven by Jessina Benavides, 24.
Rutherford was cited for ‘pedestrian fail to yield right of way not at a crosswalk,’ the release states.
The collision occurred at about 8:35 p.m.
